3 Fun Things to do in December - The Shang Fort Experience
What do you have planned for the holiday break? Will you be travelling or chilling at home and catching up on Netflix?
This year, I decided to live boldly and celebrate Christmas at the beach. This means, I have the first week of winter break solved for me and my monsters. However, I have not planned anything else for the kids beyond that.
This should be interesting...
Sleeping in and family time are never bad ideas, but I foresee the novelty eventually wearing off and I will find myself counting the days until I can deposit my kids back to school.
When I hear the words, "Shangri-La", I look back on fond memories made with my family brought about by exceptional service and well-thought through details from the resort. I cannot explain exactly what it is about "The Shang", but boy, do they know how to treat a lady.
Each experience at a Shangri-La leaves me excited and anticipating my next visit.
This is the one time of year we can treat ourselves without the guilt. So, before you find yourselves exhausting every holiday-themed attraction in the metro, make sure to visit Shangri-La Fort because they have curated a number of activities and promotional packages the entire month of December, both adults and kids will be excited about.
1. Breakfast at High Street Cafe
Hotel buffet breakfasts are not just special treats for staycationers. High Street Cafe offers unique breakfast choices for the entire family- keto dieters and picky eaters all included!
The kid-friendly ambience and generous menu selection sets this restaurant a part from other hotel buffets. The chefs of High Street Cafe launched new breakfast signature plates last November that are now being served daily between 6 am - 10:30 am priced at P1,200 nett per person. Each carefully curated dish was inspired by their individual culinary neighbourhoods and are a representation of their roots to cater to the Filipino palette. The Malaysian pontoon noodles (my fave), banana nutella flatbread, and mango yoghurt parfait are ones I cannot fail to mention.
This dish will cure more things than a hangover.
Check out the bacon danish. Enough said.
I am drooling as I remember the warm dough of the freshly baked pandesal, topped with a sunny side up egg slathered with cream cheese.
Insider tip: Keep your eyes peeled for the mini posters in each of the food stations showcasing the feature breakfast dish.
2. Gingerbread Cookie Decorating
During this season of giving, let us spread our blessings to those who need it most. In partnership with the Minipark Daycare Centre, the folks of Shangri-La Fort invite you and your family to create a DIY gingerbread cookie from their holiday cookie counter. This activity is open daily for guests starting December 4th until January 1st, 2018. Each cookie will be priced at Php 400 nett and all proceeds will go to the rebuilding of Minipark’s new daycare centre for young children.
My girls were unable to sleep the night before as they counted down to the hours leading up to this activity.
It was well worth the wait. The Shangri-La pastry chefs were so creative and helpful while the kids decorated their cookies.
There is a generous selection of fun toppings like marshmallows and sprinkles you can use to decorate your gingerbread creation.
It may not be obvious, but Ali was thrilled with this experience. She refused to eat her creation for 2 days because she insisted on preserving her work of art.
3. Adventure Zone
Yes to Adventure Zone! I am one of those moms who actually pays the extra few to burn calories in these indoor playgrounds. I love experiencing the fun with my kids and watching their faces light up in excitement. Adventure Zone is known to be a luxury indoor playground with a state of the art facility for young children and teenagers.
Kickstart 2018 with a fitness bang and avail of Shangri-La Fort's amazing fitness promotion with a special one-year membership rate for Adventure Zone at Kerry Sports Manila for up to two children until January 7, 2018. Fun photo sessions are also happening the entire month of December with Boni the Bull.
So, bulk up on breakfast, don't forget your socks, and celebrate with all the fixings at Shangri-La Fort.
What is it about the Shang experience? Do you recall a moment that instantly brought you back to a Shangri-La hotel or resort?
